Nendo Dango
This sculpture represents the creation of fertility. Specifically, the process through which rocks are gradually broken down by lichens and transformed into soil rich with life. At the bottom lies a volcanic rock and, moving up- ward through time, one finds, nestled in a warm bed of lichens, a small clay sphere filled with seeds: a tribute to the farmer and philosopher Masanobu Fukuoka.
