Vivo

This is a representation of a life, that is hollow, but that you can fill with meaningful things that you gather over your life-time.

The top of the cone opens up to signify the future and the potential of transforming into something new, into another life. At the bottom of the cone, small pieces of split wood are hammered in. These pieces represent a connection with the past, acting as little receptors that link to the lives that came before, such as your parents.

The sculpture is made from a single log of sycamore timber, which I carved out and then dyed.
