This sculpture is a representation of evolution and genetic transmission.

It is made using different plant grafting techniques and combines various plants I collected around: Ash, hawthorn, black hornbeam, wild apple, wild sour cherries and laurel. Grafting plants allows us to mix their genes together and it’s usually done before spring.

The vertical stems signify how a single species evolves overtime, while the diagonal connections represent how they can evolve through symbioses with other species. It ultimately branches out into two paths, will it flow towards the right or the left?

The stand is made of copper.
